Those 43 people so called "health workers" that were captured last February 16, 2010, were actually health workers-but were the medical officers of the New People's Army(NPA).
They were intellectual in terms of first aid and anything that concerns their health security. They studied medicine because they know that their people may not be admitted to the hospital unless they want to be caught by the soldiers or policemen.
But one issue arise from here.
And it is the rumored accusation of the victims that they are being maltreated by the soldiers.
Mostly of them are women, and they were accusing the soldiers that they sexually abused Jane Balleta while the others were being tortured.
Maj. Gen. Jorge Segovia, commander of the Army's 2nd Infantry Division, alleged that they were doing their best in doing their job. As of him,"We know we are right; we know we did not commit those allegations. As what others say, we made a great service to the nation.”
His firm answers to the allegations were being questioned, still .
For now, we have to wait for the real answers in their dilemma. We as Filipino must be aware with what's happening around us. Especially now, that the NPAs were doing all their best to bring down our government.
For our Filipino soldiers, just do your job. Nothing more, nothing less. You promised to service the nation, the people and God. We must not forget it.
